Social adVentures February 2022 Newsletter

February is here and so is our monthly newsletter!

January has been a busy month for all sectors of social adventures, we managed to do and achieve many amazing things and are excited for you to learn about them!

  • The Service Team at the Angel have recently won a grant for £10k to deliver health interventions in Prestwich and Radcliffe. This is on the back of the evidence-based work which we already do in Salford. It is going to be a fantastic joint effort across the organization where Kids adVentures and Social adVentures teams work together to deliver interventions for families and for vulnerable adults.
  • In the Easter Holidays, we will be trialing a new holiday club for older children of age 9+. For 3 days of the holidays, we will be running a “Survival Skills” club utilising Garry’s Bear Grylls training!
  • To celebrate Veganuary and to encourage healthier eating habits The Food Collective hosted a Vegan cookery class led by Vegetarian For Life Charity. We hope to work with them once again!
  • After recently completing training our Kids Adventures teams are now starting to deliver toddler yoga in settings. Not only does this promote flexibility, balance, and movement but also helps us all to practice being calm and mindful.
